The Cheapest Ways to Get From the Orlando Airport to Port Canaveral

The port’s north side has three large turning basins for these huge ships to turn around before exiting past Jetty Park and into Canaveral Bight and the Atlantic Ocean. Elevators located in the parking garage take you up to the entrance level of the terminal. There are also stairs up and sloped walkways if you choose to walk instead of taking the elevator. Parking costs $17 per car at the port, and this includes both the day you arrive and the day you leave. (So a 7-day cruise actually pays for 8 days of parking.) All major credit cards are accepted.

The majority of Port Canaveral’s dining and entertainment is located on the south side of the channel with Cruise Terminals 1, 2, and 3. These terminals are easily accessed by following FL-528 E and taking the George King Blvd exit. Port Canaveral is divided into two sections by the shipping channel. The northern end of the channel is home to Cruise Terminals 5, 6, 8, and 10. These terminals are easily accessed after turning off FL-528 E toward Port Canaveral/North Cargo Piers.

This state-of-the-art terminal was completed in 2020 and adjoins a dedicated 1,800-vehicle parking garage with elevators and a drop-off point for luggage and passengers. The third-floor parking garage is dedicated to handicapped parking and those who need special assistance with step-free access to the second floor of the terminal. In front of the building is a great place to get a photo before heading into check-in.

The journey from Orlando Airport to Port Canaveral is about 45 miles and takes at least 45 minutes for the trip. The best way to drive from Orlando to Port Canaveral Cruise Terminals is on SR-528 (Beachline Expressway), a toll road. In total,  Port Canaveral offers easy access to more than 50 destinations, including the Caribbean, Bahamas, and Eastern and Western Mexico.

With its prime location and top-notch facilities, the terminal sets the stage for an unforgettable cruise adventure. Cruise Terminal 10 is primarily utilized by Norwegian Cruise Line’s ships. The Getaway will begin sailing from this terminal in April of 2023 and the Jade and Epic will join them in 2024. A few restrooms are also available within parking garages. Porters are available at each cruise terminal to assist with luggage. The closest Amtrak train stations are in Sanford and Orlando, and the closest Greyhound terminal is in Titusville, which is a 25-minute drive from the port.

The SR-528 toll road, also known as the Bee Line or Beachline Expressway, makes the journey quick and easy, taking motorists less than 45 minutes to go from city to coast. This terminal can be found at 9005 Charles M. Rowland Drive, Cape Canaveral. Terminal 10 is primarily used as a home port by MSC cruise ships, including MSC Divina and MSC Meraviglia.
